Here are a few images I
snapped just as the event was getting underway:
Fishing net and globe
string lights draped over the existing lighting beams.
Spring tulips in mason
jars, tied with twine. We wanted these to look like something you could have
gathered from the backyard. Simple containers that you could have easily found in any kitchen. Nothing too formal or overdone.
Cat grass in old planters,
for a burst of Spring colour.
And foooood.
Drinks were iced tea (with
lemons!) and lemonade (with raspberries!) in cute drink dispensers ($15 from
Superstore!) and served in mason jar glasses with twine & paper name tags
and red striped straws.
Food was catered by
Kitchen Door and had lots of delicious snacks and a few maritime essentials (lobster dip!)
Cookies (Ships (Chips)
Ahoy!) by the register for a sweet treat on the way out.
We had also planned to
feature a bunch of brightly coloured Maritime art around the store (like these)
but unfortunately, ran out of time to make it happen.
All said and done, it was
a lot of fun to plan and carry out! I’m not planning on shifting my focus from
interior design to event design anytime soon, but I definitely wouldn’t mind
doing this again. So fun!
