I wasn't a lipstick girl until recently. I always veered towards the super glossy or balmy (and at 13, the super glittery) - but rarely went for the colourful impact of lipstick. It always felt too mature, too grown-up, like I was trying on my mom's clothes. Sometime over the course of the last few years, however, I developed a penchant for lipstick. Bright lipstick in particular. The bolder the better, especially as summer rolls around. Matte lipstick is my preference, but a glossy lip can also be gorgeous. Regardless of colour, I'm enamoured by the elegance of lipstick. Even if it's the only makeup you wear, it can instantly make you look put together. And there's something so quintessentially feminine about lipstick. I put it on and immediately feel classy, confident, and fabulous.

Here are a few of my favourite lipsticks:
- Okay, so technically this one is a lipstain - but it LOOKS like lipstick and comes with a glossy balm to put over top. Revlon Just Bitten in Gothic. In my opinion, Revlon makes the best drug store lipstick.
- M.A.C. Lady Danger. My all-time favourite lipstick. Matte orangey-red.
- M.A.C. Candy Yum-Yum. Ridiculous name. Matte and neon-bright pink. SO perfect with a tan.
- M.A.C. Ruby Woo. This (and Nars Heat Wave, which I've yet to try) is the red lipstick all the fashion bloggers recommend. A perfect deep red. Also matte.
- Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti (015). A glossy coral-orange. Perfect for summer.
