Cottage Life

I've got cottages on the brain. We've spent time at various cottages/camps this summer and explored NS cottage country pretty extensively. The result? My mind is overflowing with design possibilities. I put together this mood board, thinking of a basic one-room cottage, with two tiny bedrooms off the back. I'm picturing white painted wood walls and a rich wide-plank wood floor.

1. Drapery and bamboo blinds.
2. Art.
3. Kitchen paraphernalia.
4. White bead board cupboards; butcher block counters; stainless steel open shelving.
5. Monochromatic dish towel.
6. Comfy IKEA sofa and industrial (and durable) metal coffee table.
7. Floor lamp with rope base.
8. Red Wishbone chair with striped IKEA cushion and red patterned throw, to pull out the red accents in the room.
9. Vintage boxes for storing blankets, games, and reading material.
10. Hooks by the door for hanging up towels.
11. Jute rugs under each distinct space (e.g., living, dining, sleeping).
12. Pair of matching midcentury dressers with industrial lamps - one for each "bedroom".
13. Coordinating duvet sets for each of the "bedrooms".
14. Warm wood table with industrial chairs for the few times you eat indoors.
